"Leaving on a Jet Plane...

...Don't know when I'll be back again," was the song Dax must have been singing when Greg took him to Utah to stay with my parents while we took a trip to Guatemala. Amidst packing everything up to move to California, our passports and important papers we needed got packed away and put in storage in Draper by mistake. So the weekend before our trip Greg flew out to Utah to search for them. My mom came up with the marvelous plan of just bringing Daxton and then she'd watch him clear until we got back. It was about 5 days before we left for Guatemala that he left us and I was already missing him after 3 of those days! Greg was very brave to travel with him alone, but did very well at keeping him under control and happy during the flight. This was Daxton's first airplane ride! We made sure to pack plenty of treats (raisins especially...Daxton's favorite lately), but that only lasted so long before he discovered someone sitting behind them and had to keep peeking over the seat at them. Then he discovered the window shade and Greg says that kept him busy for about 15-20 min alone! Pushing it open and closed repeatedly. He got a little fussy toward the end of the flight, but fell asleep quickly in Greg's arms.

Being a good boy looking out the window (this probably lasted a whole 5 seconds).
(Don't you love Greg's "Guatemala look"? Just wait til you see him at the END of the Guatemala trip...it was like I married a caveman!)
