Moving fun...

Well here we are at last in Laguna Beach, just about settled in. Greg is putting together a shelving unit for our kitchen to put groceries on (as there is no pantry) as we speak. Dax is such a helper!

After this, we should pretty much be set.

So we tried to get out of our place in Draper on the 19th and were going to drive straight through, but plans with storing our things didn't work out as we had planned and after a couple days decided to just rent out a storage unit. So after packing up Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the 23rd (thanks so much to everyone who helped!! We couldn't have done it without you.), and loading up the cars on Thurs, we finally got out of Draper around 2pm. We spent the night in Primm Valley (Nevada/California state line) and then headed on to Laguna Beach the next morning. We had a pretty good trip. The Durango was packed to the max and we had a dolly pulling the Civic behind it. We packed the Civic to the max as well. A little too much, because a couple times we had to pull over and adjust some things as our Civic was honking at us! How embarrassing!! Something kept falling on the horn. We got a good laugh out of it, but after the 3rd time, Greg found something to sit between the steering wheel and the object so that it wouldn't press against the horn. Having to pull over every 30 min was really starting to get annoying. Other than that, everything went well. Dax did really well and there were no episodes of vomiting (thank goodness!) even though I was well prepared with plenty of wipes, garbage bags, and 3 changes of clothes...just in case. The pictures below are kinda backwards. First is the packing up part and Dax having so much fun with all the boxes and foam.

The boxes just happened to have a little hole in them how they were stacked and Dax found it and had a blast crawling through it.

Here are pictures of where we are staying....

When you walk down the stairs and turn left you walk into the bathroom.

(Above is around the door when you're in the bathroom)

If you continue straight after you come downstairs, you run into the kitchen...
In the back you see the sliding glass door and our little deck/patio off of it. At least Dax can still play outside :)

This is to the left of the previous picture. Sink, Counter, Dishwasher, Microwave. Don't pay attention to the me reflected in the window...still in pj's.

This is to the left of the counters and the microwave. No, that's not a pantry next to the refrigerator...that's where the washer and dryer be.

Dax was following me around while I was taking pictures saying "cheeee" so I had to humor him and take a picture. That cute smile is worth capturing :)

This is the living area/bedroom. If you turn right after entering the downstairs this is what you see.

This is facing the smaller couch...

This is the larger couch which pulls out into a sofabed that we sleep on every night and fold up in the morning (good thing I'm already used to making my bed each day). The big chest works as a dresser to store clothes in. To the left of that is a closet.

And this is the closet and TV on the left wall as you walk in.

And that's that! This is where we are living. Good thing the beach is only a block away and there are plenty of places to walk to or close by that we can drive to so that we don't go stir-crazy in our small living quarters. But our friends are good to let us stay here and are very good about letting us know that we're welcome to come upstairs whenever. Here's to a new adventure!

I think you will be just fine there for a while! =) We got all moved into our town home Thursday night and it is the BEST ever! We are so happy.
